Questions

Study abroad loans, explained.

Will the loan sanction arrive before my visa interview?

That is usually the point of applying early. Many consulates accept a sanction letter as proof of funds, so we work backwards from your interview date when planning the application.

Does the loan cover living expenses, or only tuition?

Most overseas education loans cover living costs alongside tuition, though the proportion varies by lender and by country. The split is set out in the sanction letter.

Who handles the foreign exchange transfer?

The lender typically remits directly to the university under RBI rules. Charges and the exchange rate applied are disclosed by the lender and the remitting bank.
